Peter Faith
Series: Aarya Dalton
Powers: Heightened Senses, Force Fields, Healing
Character: Peter was born deaf and wears a cochlear implant. He has brown, floppy hair and green eyes. He’s fluent in American Sign Language, but switches between it and American English. Peter is quick to call out, easily annoyed, intelligent, and fun. He has an interest in earth sciences, specifically space exploration.
Friends: Aarya Dalton
Relations: Mr. & Mrs. Faith (parents), Grams (maternal grandmother)
FAQ: Does Peter’s deafness impact Heightened Senses? Kind of. Most Ablete’s abilities differ from user to user. Peter’s ability would act more like heightened awareness to touch, meaning his glitches would probably feel like extreme sensory issues, unlike Aarya’s glitches, which are overstimulation from loud environments.
Scene from “Aarya Dalton Didn’t Sign Up For This”
“Alright, place your bets,” I announced as we headed for the street corner. “What condition will the building be in and who was its last owner?”
“The online picture showed-” he started.
I waved away his reply. “No, no. I mean make up a story. Not of what’s likely, but of what’s funny. I’ll go first. I think it’s going to have a hole in the ceiling, but one with a purpose. It used to be a toy store and the hole was for the giant stuffed giraffe to stick its head out of and smile at people as they drove by.”
Peter laughed. “Oh! Well in that case, I think it’s going to be eerily spotless, like, with no dust or anything even though it’s been untouched for months.”
“And why is that?” I asked, ready for the punchline.
He put on a serious face. “Because they used to sell furniture polish and let people test it on the ceiling, walls, and floor. Now everything is so polished, nothing sticks to it.”
I giggled. “Let’s hope that’s not the case, because if it is, we won’t be able to find any proof of Brendon being in the building.”
